Indian benchmark indices ended on strong note with Nifty above 24,350 on April 17 amid buying across the sectors. At close, the Sensex was up 504.86 points or 0.65 percent at 78,493.54, and the Nifty was up 156.80 points or 0.65 percent at 24,353.55. About 2906 shares advanced, 1233 shares declined, and 152 shares unchanged.
