Indian equity indices ended on strong note with Nifty above 24,300 on May 6 amid buying across the sectors barring power and FMCG names. At close, the Sensex was up 940.73 points or 1.22 percent at 77,958.52, and the Nifty was up 298.15 points or 1.24 percent at 24,330.95. About 2755 shares advanced, 1287 shares declined, and 161 shares unchanged.
