Indian equity indices ended lower on October 12 with Nifty below 22,400. At close, the Sensex was down 547.65 points or 0.76 percent at 71,924.68, and the Nifty was down 157.10 points or 0.70 percent at 22,363.35. About 2187 shares advanced, 2066 shares declined, and 235 shares unchanged.
