Indian stock market benchmarks ended the continuous trading session higher on Friday, with the Sensex up 301 points, or 0.41 percent, at 73,881 and the Nifty gaining 65 points, or 0.28 percent, to 23,128 at the pre-CAS close. Market breadth was positive, with 2,058 shares advancing against 1,905 declines. Auto rose 0.76 percent and realty gained 0.74 percent, while consumer durables advanced 0.67 percent. IT, oil & gas and midcaps traded lower. The Smallcap 100 gained 0.17 percent, while India VIX fell 4.33 percent.
