Indian equity indices ended on strong note with Nifty at 24,200 on August 20 amid buying across the sectors. At close, the Sensex was up 628.04 points or 0.82 percent at 77,537.72, and the Nifty was up 153.55 points or 0.64 percent at 24,231.85. About 2367 shares advanced, 1778 shares declined, and 173 shares unchanged.
