Indian equity indices ended on lower on August 19 with Nifty finishing below 24,100. At close, the Sensex was down 325.78 points or 0.42 percent at 76,909.68, and the Nifty was down 76.60 points or 0.32 percent at 24,078.30. About 1725 shares advanced, 2386 shares declined, and 179 shares unchanged.
