Indian equity indices ended lower note with Nifty below 24,300 on August 17. At close, the Sensex was down 281.09 points or 0.36 percent at 77,728.16, and the Nifty was down 78.35 points or 0.32 percent at 24,287.65. About 2025 shares advanced, 2213 shares declined, and 181 shares unchanged.
