Indian equity indices ended on a weak note with Nifty finishing just above 22,500 on March 23 amid selling across the sectors. At close, the Sensex was down 1,836.57 points or 2.46 percent at 72,696.39, and the Nifty was down 601.85 points or 2.60 percent at 22,512.65. About 592 shares advanced, 3654 shares declined, and 114 shares unchanged.
