Banking and financial stocks declined on Friday, dragging the Bank Nifty index down more than 1 percent, as elevated crude oil prices stoked concerns over inflation and the prospect of tighter monetary policy. ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Bajaj Finserv shares were among the top losers on the Nifty, leading the sectoral decline.
